Assessing your Toby Keith Ticket Needs - A retraction of sorts

Posted at 4:22 pm under Toby Keith Love

So after having my mini breakdown this morning, when I thought I was unnecessarily kept out of a Toby Keith concert ticket presale, taking place right now on Ticketmaster, I received responses from Toby Keith’s fan club assuring me that I would be able to purchase tickets during the fan club presale. I was also assured that those tickets would be comparable to the tickets being sold right now for the Target and Tickemaster Presale.

According to the fan club, they divide up and equal mix of presale tickets amongst Target, Ticketmaster, and Music City (the fan club). So separate tickets go on sale for each group.

I still think it is not fair that the fan club members (who pay as much as $47.00 a membership) are not given preferential seats and a priority presale date, however, I haven’t the energy to wage that battle at the moment.

I decided that I couldn’t take the risk so I dished out another $13.99 for a second “Big Dog Daddy” cd at Target to get a presale code” and purchase 4 tickets. I got pretty decent seats, but something tells me that they would have been a whole lot better had I had this nifty code in my hands last Tuesday when the Target presale began. But at least I can sleep knowing I have my tickets now.

I still plan to try to purchase better seats when the fan club tickets go on sale, however, if I don’t do any better, I’ll still be satisfied. However if what I was told was true, the moment the fan club tickets go on sale, I’ll be logged in, and if it is truly an even mix of tickets, then I should get better seats than the ones I purchased through the Target presale.

So my blood pressure has begun to return to a normal level, due in part by the prompt response from Toby’s Fan Club. I emailed two different addresses and got a reply back from both explaining the situation to me. Jason, in particular, was especially nice and understanding of my grief. Thank you for hearing me out!

How to spend money on Toby Keith and what it gets you in Toby goods:

Platinum Fan Club Membership - $47.00 (gets you a Warrior Edition of the CD, a Toby Keith T-Shirt and a father’s day card from Toby). Note the Warrior Edition of the CD is a complete CD with 11 songs, however does not come with bonus DVD being sold in some stores. This also gets you fan club access and the ability to store up points, register for a possible meet and greet with Toby, and for the ability to purchase tickets through presales.

Big Dog Daddy Target CD Exclusive Tour Edition- $13.99 (gets you the CD, and the access code to the Target Ticketmaster concert presale going on right now in a few cities). Careful, not all the CDs at Target were marked as the Exclusive Tour Edition. Thank god I leafed through a few, I almost purchased a non-exclusive tour edition cd. :o

Big Dog Daddy CD from Best Buy or Walmart - $9.99 - $13.99 (gets you the CD and the bonus DVD, however no presale code). So now I own two Toby Keith CDs and don’t have the bonus DVD. However, my Mom purchased the cd at Wal-Mart with the bonus DVD and is saving it for me. She was mad when she found out it was going for $9.99 at Best Buy.

Toby, Toby, Toby… If I hear Toby Keith’s name around my house one more time (or Jason Varitek’s name — unless I am saying HIS name), I think I’m gonna scream! Thank God for Chris… at least I’m not expected to go to his concerts… lololol
