It seems every time I plan a trip to Six Flags, the major new ride of the year malfunctions. Then tragically, someone gets hurt, and then the ride is shutdown the day I’m planning a trip out to Agawam. It happened to me the year that Blizzard River and the year that Superman Ride of Steel were debuted. I haven’t been back since the summer that the Superman Ride of Steel opened.

I happened to stumble across this today in my web travels, and it eased my pain a bit…

Virtual Superman Ride of Steel

Instructions:

1. Click on link above photo.

2. Turn sound volume way up loud.

3. Sit up straight in your chair.

4. Imagine pulling that metal bar in place securely over your lap.

5. Put your arms up over your head (Come on now - don’t be a wimp!)

6. Ready? Set? Here We Go…

Okay, so it isn’t the same experience as riding an actual rollercoaster, (like Expedition Everest after five beers!!!) but it is a nice distraction from the daily grind.
