My New Favorite T-Shirt

Aside from the obvious sarcasm, don’t you notice that there are more and more ridiculous task forces and sub-committees being formed daily?

Recently, I received an email at work from the Campus Parking Committee asking me whether or not I think a parking fee for staff is a good idea? My first reaction to this email was “Wow, we actually have a committee dedicated to Campus Parking?” Seeing that I am staff, my second reaction to this email was “Well, no I don’t think that a parking fee for staff is a good idea”. However, it seemed somewhat ridiculous to state the obvious, so I didn’t bother composing or sending a response to the email.

Heavy sigh….

    It seems like the Campus Parking Committee are in good company. The NYT recently reported this about our very dear Secretary of State:

    The long buildup to Annapolis, together with Ms. Rice’s many trips to the region, have given birth to a new verb in Israeli government circles: “lecondel,” meaning, to come and go for meetings that produce few results. The word is based on Ms. Rice’s first name.

    Soon when you look up “running around and accomplishing nothing” in a Hebrew dictionary, it will reference Condi. What a legacy to leave!
